For now, the renewal only include a season of 13 episodes. Robert Greenblatt, NBC’s CEO, explained in a communiqué : « Ever since we sold this show to Fox I’ve regretted letting it get away, and it’s high time it came back to it’s rightful home. Mike Schur, Dan Goor and Andy Samberg grew up on NBC and we are thrilled that one of the most intelligent and funny comedy as well as one of the best cast could take their place in our comedy section. I speak for everyone in NBC, there’s the Nine-Nine !»
