Scarlett Johansson, who will soon star in Black Widow, will not be leaving the Disney world anytime soon. According to Collider, the actress will produce a film inspired by the successful ride “Tower of Terror”.
The American media reports that Scarlett Johansson will also star in the film, although this information has not been confirmed by her or the studio itself.
To develop this project, Disney has called on Josh Cooley, the director of Toy Story 4 and writer of Inside Out. If no details have been released about the script, it should follow a similar storyline to the one of the Disney theme park ride. As a reminder, it is based on the disappearance of five people in an elevator after lightning struck the hotel where they were on Halloween night.
This is not the first time that the attraction has been adapted. In 1997, as part of the anthology series The Wonderful World of Disney, D.J. MacHale directed a one-and-a-half hour TV movie following a disgraced reporter (Steve Guttenberg) and his niece (Kirsten Dunst) as they investigate an abandoned luxury hotel where five people mysteriously disappeared sixty years earlier.
