The Strangers, the 2008 horror classic, will soon be getting a reboot from Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Exorcist: The Beginning). In this new version, we follow a young couple, Maya (Madelaine Petsch) and Ryan (Froy Gutierrez), who are forced to stay at an isolated AirBnB in the woods. Maya and Ryan soon fall prey to mysterious masked strangers and must fight for their survival.
Expected to be released in 2024, this first chapter of The Strangers trilogy will be fairly faithful to the original. The other two films will explore the reasons behind the actions of these “strangers” and the consequences of this night of horror for the character played by Madelaine Petsch, the director told Blood Disgusting at New York Comic Con 2023.
Madelaine Petsch, who appears in the credits of all three films, is also at the center of the preview of The Strangers that debuted at NYCC 2023, which pays homage to an iconic scene from Bryan Bertino‘s movie. Check it out below.
