This year’s Star Wars Celebration, held in London from April 7 to 10, was once again the occasion for Lucasfilm and Disney to make many announcements about their next Star Wars productions. Let’s take a look.

Three new films on the schedule

If the Star Wars series is omnipresent on Disney+, the company is not forgetting the big screen. During the panel dedicated to the Lucasfilm studio, it was confirmed that three films are in preparation.

The feature film directed by Dave Filoni will focus on the New Republic and will conclude the interconnected stories of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka. The James Mangold-directed film will go back to the dawn of the Jedi, while Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy‘s feature film will take place after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and will see the return of Daisy Ridley as Rey. In this new movie, the young woman will try to establish a new Jedi Order.

A second season for Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi

The animated series Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, which has been available on Disney+ since October 2022, will soon return for a second season.

The announcement was made by Dave Filoni, co-creator of the series with Charles Murray, at the end of the panel celebrating the 15th anniversary of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He explained that the first season was so much fun that he decided to produce more episodes.

A trailer for Star Wars: Visions Volume 2

The animated anthology Star Wars: Visions will return to Disney+ on May 4, and a trailer gives us a first look at the second season.

The nine episodes that will make up Volume 2 promise a variety of animation styles and stories. The proof in the trailer.

The Bad Batch: a third season made official

During a panel dedicated to The Bad Batch at Star Wars Celebration 2023, executive producers Brad Rau, Jennifer Corbett, and Athena Portillo officially announced the animated series’ return for a third season.

If fans of the show are excited by this news, their excitement may be short-lived when they learn that it will be the final season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch. It is expected to air on Disney+ in 2024.

See you in Japan for the next Star Wars Celebration

For the next edition of Star Wars Celebration, Disney and Lucasfilm will be in Japan, at the Makuhari Messe. A place that already hosted the event in 2008.

If you want to attend the next edition of Star Wars Celebration, you can already mark the dates in your calendar: from April 18 to 20, 2025.
