While many fans were hoping for a return of Wizards of Waverly Place, Selena Gomez and David Henrie have come together for another reason which is the promotion of their new movie called This is the Year. This project is very dear to them, since it is the first time that David Henrie is directing a feature film and Selena Gomez works as executive producer at his side. The two actors announced the news by releasing a video, much to our delight.
The actors explain in this video that the feature film will have a virtual premiere because of the current health conditions. So, they will meet us on August 28th for an evening that promises to be exciting. The evening will start with Selena Gomez and David Henrie who will introduce This is the Year on our screens. After that we will meet Charli and Dixie d’Amelio, two famous TikTokers, for a live Q&A session. The evening will end with a concert by the band Lovelytheband.

This is the Year will follow the adventures of Josh (Lorenzo James Henrie), a high school student who will do everything he can to seduce Zoey (Alyssa Jirrels), the girl he loves, until he leaves with his friends on a road trip to attend the concert of their favorite band at the biggest music festival of the year. However, their trip will not go as planned and will be full of unexpected events. This film already promises to have a good share of music, friendships and love.
