It took only one episode of the Superman & Lois series, created by Greg Berlanti and Todd Helbing, to convince the CW to do a second season. It is true to say that the new series from the DC universe allowed the American channel to get its best score in more than two years on the Tuesday night slot. In addition, it was the best start of a CW series on streaming platforms. The decision to renew seems logical, all the more so since Superman & Lois has been positively received by critics.
The series, starring Tyler Hoechlin as Superman and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois, follows the couple as they deal with the stress, pressure and difficulty of running their professional lives while raising their sons, Jonathan and Jordan, who may (or may not) inherit their father’s superpowers. Here the action takes place not in Metropolis but in Smallville where Lois and Clark have decided to settle. The opportunity to reconnect with old acquaintances including Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui).
The cast of Superman & Lois also includes Alex Garfin (Jordan Kent), Jordan Elsass (Jonathan Kent), Inde Navarrette (Sarah Cushing), Adam Rayner (Morgan Edge), Stacey Farber (Leslie), Wolé Parks (Captain Luthor), Dylan Walsh (Sam Lane) and Joselyn Picard (Sophie Cushing).
