Bridget Jones is back in search of love in the fourth instalment of her cinematic adventures, and a first trailer tells us all about it. Expected to be released by Peacock in the United States and in cinemas worldwide, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, an adaptation of Helen Fielding‘s novel of the same name, will see Renée Zellweger return to her iconic role alongside Hugh Grant, who is back in the franchise, Emma Thompson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Leo Woodall and Jim Broadbent.

Widowed four years ago after the death of Mark (Colin Firth) on a humanitarian mission in Sudan, Bridget Jones raises her children Billy, 9, and Mabel, 4, with the help of her friends and former lover Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant). Urged by those around her to find love again and rebuild her life, Bridget goes back to work and tries her hand at dating apps. Juggling work, motherhood and love, Bridget faces the judgement of the mothers at school, worries about Billy as he struggles with his father’s absence and has a series of awkward interactions with her son’s science teacher.

Directed by Michael Morris (Brothers & Sisters), Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy will be released in cinemas on 12 February 2025 and on the Peacock the following day.
