Marvel emporte tout sur son passage aux MTV Movie & TV Awards 2021 en repartant avec 6 prix. WandaVision, en tête des nominations, fait quasiment un carton plein en obtenant 4 awards. Seul le prix du « Meilleur héro / Meilleure héroïne » lui échappe mais celui-ci reste dans l’écurie Marvel-Disney+ puisqu’il a été attribué à Anthony Mackie pour sa prestation dans Falcon et le Soldat de l’hiver. L’acteur est également reparti avec l’award du meilleur duo récompensant celui qu’il forme avec Sebastian Stan dans la série Marvel.
Les séries The Boys et Emily in Paris, qui complétaient le podium en nombre de nominations, repartent les mains vides. Les autres séries à obtenir un prix sont La Chronique des Bridgerton (meilleure révélation pour Regé-Jean Page), The Haunting of Bly Minor (meilleure performance horrifique pour Victoria Pedretti), Outer Banks (meilleur baiser) et Julie and the Phantoms (meilleure performance musicale avec « Edge of Great »)
Côté ciné, Chadwick Boseman a été récompensé à titre posthume pour sa prestation dans Le blues de Ma Rainey tandis que To All the Boys: Always and Forever a été sacré meilleur film par les votants.
