The Simpsons renewed for two more seasons

Fox has decided to stay in Springfield for another two years. Indeed, the American channel has just renewed the animated series The Simpsons and will enable it to reach 34 seasons.

Following the renewal, Matt Groening, creator and executive producer of The Simpsons, said: “Everyone at The Simpsons is thrilled to be renewed once more, and we are planning lots of big surprises. Homer will lose a hair, Milhouse will get contact lenses, and Bart will celebrate his tenth birthday for the thirty-third time.”

The series will reach 700 episodes on Sunday, March 21. A record for a scripted series broadcast in primetime that will be hard to beat. This season, The Simpsons are attracting an average of 7 million viewers on all platforms where the series is aired.
