Amazon has found the new actor who will be portraying Beldor, the main hero of the series based on the Lord of the Rings universe. After Will Poulter’s decision to step down due to an incompatible schedule, Amazon Studios began looking for a new actor who would be playing the lead male role. According to the information released by Deadline, Robert Aramayo would be the new lead.

Featuring in the upcoming Behind Her Eyes and The King’s Man, Robert Aramayo is best known as the actor who played young Ned Stark in Game of Thrones. He is therefore an actor with experience in sword fighting and who is also familiar with the constraints of a fantasy series, two factors that must have played in his favor.

The Lord of the Rings series will take place before the events of the first opus of Peter Jackson‘s trilogy. The cast is likely to include Ema Horvath, Morfydd Clark (His Dark Materials), Markella Kavenagh (Picnic at Hanging Rock) and Joseph Mawle (Troy: Fall of a City).
