As announced in late January, a spin-off of Riverdale is currently being developed at the CW but the characters of this new series should not visit our young heroes. Mark Pedowitz, the channel’s president, explained why at the TCA Press Winter Tour.
“Katy Keene takes places years after Riverdale High School, Mark Pedowicz said. There are no plans to do anything [regarding a crossover]. Any of the Riverdale characters who come to Katy Keene will be older. Robert [Aguirre-Sacasa] is getting the pilot right.”
Katy Keene will be a musical dramedy centering on the title character and her friends trying to make it on Broadway.
Mark Pedowitz also said to the press that currently a crossover was not an option between Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, another series from the world of Archie Comics.
