Season 3 of Reacher is due to arrive on Prime Video in the next few months, but the streaming platform didn’t wait for the new episodes to air before announcing some good news for fans of the series. According to a press release, Prime Video has decided to commission a spin-off focusing on the character of Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten.
Developed by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton, a duo who previously worked together on Scorpion and Prison Break, the series will follow Frances Neagley as she works as a private investigator in Chicago. When she learns that a friend from her past has died in a suspicious accident, she sets out to bring him justice, using everything she’s learned from Jack Reacher as a member of the 110th.
Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton, who will serve as showrunners and executive producers, said of the project: “Lee Child created an immensely rich character with Neagley, and Maria Sten brought her to life in such a vivid, authentic way in Reacher. Amazon, Skydance Television, and CBS Studios have been tremendous partners from the start, and we are excited to explore Neagley’s story further and dive into what makes her so unique.”
For her part, Maria Sten made no secret of her excitement at the prospect of starring in a series dedicated entirely to her: “I’m beyond thrilled to further explore the world of Neagley further and her somewhat mysterious background. She’s such a wonderful character to play and I’m very excited for everyone to get to know her a little better.”
At this time, Prime Video has not announced a release date for this Reacher spin-off. In the meantime, it’s still possible to watch the first two seasons of Reacher on the streaming platform.
