The Reacher universe isn’t going anywhere on Prime Video. The streaming service has officially announced the renewal of Reacher for a sixth season and Neagley—its spin-off starring Maria Sten—for a second season.
The news comes as the fourth season of Reacher has just wrapped up and the fifth is already in production. This latest batch of episodes has, once again, been a huge hit with Prime Video subscribers: Season 4 attracted 66 million viewers worldwide during its first 28 days, surpassing the previous season’s performance. Since its launch in 2022, the series has now been watched by more than 200 million people around the world.
This should be enough to convince Prime Video to continue the adventure with Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher. Peter Friedlander, Head of International Television at Amazon MGM Studios, welcomed the renewal: “‘Reacher’ hits hard. What Lee Child has built and Nick Santora and his creative teams have brought to life is, simply, incredible. Alan Ritchson is Jack Reacher — he’s delivered a performance that has captivated audiences around the world. Together with our partners at Paramount Television Studios, we couldn’t be more excited to continue this journey. Reacher is a truly iconic series, and we’re thrilled to be on the ride with this extraordinary cast and crew for Season Six.”
“Neagley,” a spin-off that won people over
Success is also on the horizon for Neagley, the Reacher spin-off centered on the character played by Maria Sten. The eight episodes of its first season were released online on September 16, and the series has already attracted 40 million viewers worldwide in its first 13 days. This ranks it fourth among the most-watched launches in Prime Video’s history and places it among the platform’s top ten most-watched seasons.
Neagley has also performed particularly well internationally: 53% of its audience is located outside the United States, with notably strong results in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Brazil.
Peter Friedlander also commented on the renewal: “Audiences around the world have embraced Frances Neagley as a force all her own. Maria Sten delivers a commanding, layered performance that drives every episode, and Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton have built a world that is both thrilling and compelling. We are excited to continue this story and explore what’s next for Neagley with our partners at Paramount Television Studios.”
At this time, no air dates have been announced for Season 6 of Reacher and Season 2 of Neagley.
