Ratched, Ryan Murphy’s new series will be coming to Netflix soon. We tell you all about it.

Milos Forman‘s blockbuster movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is getting its prequel through the Ratched series. The show will take place 15 years before the movie and will be based on the story of nurse Mildred Ratched. Created by Evan Romansky and developed by Ryan Murphy, creator of Glee, American Horror Story, The Politician and Hollywood, the series already promises to be scary and horrific for our greatest pleasure.

The show will consist of eight 50-minute episodes and will follow the adventures of nurse Mildred Ratched in 1947 as she moves to North Carolina for her work. She will be working as a nurse in a psychiatric hospital that performs unusual experiments on the human mind. Ratched presents herself as an outstanding nurse although her appearance is deceptive. She will turn out to be a psychopath who tortures her patients and will even go so far as to murder them.

A trailer has been released to give us a taste of this terrifying nurse.

As for the casting, Ryan Murphy places his trust once again in actress Sarah Paulson and offers her the role of the tyrannical nurse Mildred Ratched. Next to her, we will see well-known faces from American Horror Story such as Jon Jon Briones, Finn Wittrock and Harriet Sansom Harris. Charlie Carver (Teen Wolf), Judy Davis (Feud), Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City), Hunter Parrish (Good Girls Revolt), Amanda Plummer (Pulp Fiction), Corey Stoll (The Strain) and Sharon Stone (Basic Instinct) will also appear in the credits.

If you enjoy the thrill of a good horror series, Ratched is perfect for you. See you on September 18, 2020 on Netflix.
