While some had bet on a release of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+ on May 4, on the occasion of Star Wars Day, it is not the case. But the streaming platform has chosen a date just as symbolic.

The series, which will take place 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, will be available from May 25, 2022 on Disney+. The series will be broadcast 45 years exactly after the release of the first Star Wars film and the first appearance of the character Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Ewan McGregor, who had already played the famous Jedi in the second Star Wars trilogy, will return to the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the series. He will be reunited with Hayden Christensen, the interpreter of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.

The cast of the series will also include Joel Edgerton (The Underground Railroad), Indira Varma (For Life), Marisé Álvarez (En el corredor de la muerte), Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley), Rupert Friend (Homeland), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Swagger), Bonnie Piesse (Sundays), Sung Kang (Power), Simone Kessell (Reckoning), Moses Ingram (The Queen’s Gambit) and Benny Safdi (Pieces of a Woman).
