Announced in November of 2017, Bad Boys‘ spin-off, centered around Syd Burnett (Gabrielle Union), might not go far after the pilot.

According to Deadline’s information, NBC will not order the show but it might be bought back by Charter Communications’ streaming service.
If Bob Greenblatt, NBC CEO, explained that the show was unable to fit in the grid prepared by the channel, the production cost might be the bigger cause of refusal. The pilot had cost 12 million dollars, which makes it one of the most expensive pilots for this season. American sources indicate that Sony tried it’s hardest to sell the show in a package with 3 other : Blacklist, Timeless and Guess Who Died, a new show.

As a reminder, L.A’s Finest would have follow Syd Burnett, now a cop in Los Angeles, and her partner Nancy McKenna (Jessica Alba), an ex-military and mother of 2 who envy Syd’s freedom.
