Since the beginning of the week, the renewal announcements follow one another. Let’s take a look at it.

Emily in Paris: two more seasons for the Netflix comedy

Often criticized, Emily in Paris is nevertheless a successful series for Netflix. Launched last December 22, the second season of the series created by Darren Star has quickly slipped into the TOP 10 of the most watched programs and even took the first place in 94 countries between December 22 and December 26, 2021. In addition, the first season also made its way back into the TOP 10 in 53 countries says the Netflix release.

Therefore, the streaming platform has decided not to stop there and has renewed Emily in Paris for two more seasons.

The Great: Hulu offers a season 3 to its “anti-historical” series

The Great, Hulu’s “anti-historical” comedy, will return for a 10-episode third season.

Starring Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, the series is one of the most viewed original comedies on the streaming platform and is accumulating Emmy, Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Television Award nominations.

Created by Tony McNamara, The Great follows the rise of Catherine the Great to the throne of Russia with a healthy dose of humor and freedom from reality.

Station 19: the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off comes back in 2022-2023

While Grey’s Anatomy has been renewed for a season 19, its spin-off Station 19 also gets an additional season on ABC. The series centered on Seattle firefighters will return for a season 6.

Following the renewal, Krista Vernoff, producer of Station 19, said, “It’s a privilege to tell stories of our heroic first responders, who on our show and in real life put their lives on the line every day to keep us all safe”. She added, “I’m so grateful to Disney and ABC for the early pickup for Season 6 of Station 19! It’s a tribute to the incredible work of our talented cast, crew, writers and creative team, as well as the dedication of our loyal fans who tune in every week.”

Apple TV+ renews its confidence in The Morning Show

The Morning Show, starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, has been renewed for a third season.

For this new batch of episodes, Kerry Ehrin leaves her place as showrunner to Charlotte Stoudt, known for her work on Homeland or Fosse/Verdon.

In a statement, Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+ said, “It has been thrilling to watch ‘The Morning Show’ go from strength to strength over the past two seasons, exploring topical storylines that have resonated with audiences around the world while also being incredibly addictive and entertaining. We’re excited to see where Charlotte takes these extraordinary characters in season three and to watch the magic that Jennifer, Reese and our awe-inspiring cast continue to bring to the captivating world of morning television.”

For her part, Charlotte Stoudt said she was thrilled to join this “irresistible world that is equally delicious and provocative.”
