A few weeks after the surprising cancellation of Dexter: Original Sin, Paramount+ and Showtime announced the news that fans had been hoping for. Dexter: Resurrection has been renewed for a second season. This renewal confirms the platform’s commitment to continuing the main Dexter saga, with Michael C. Hall reprising his role.
In a video posted on social media, Michael C. Hall thanked fans for their support before sharing the good news: “We’ve been greenlit for another season. There’s more to come. The writers room is assembling now and, details will be forthcoming. But I wanted to be the first to let you know that the story continues.”
As a reminder, the first season of Dexter: Resurrection, directed by Clyde Phillips (creator of the original series), continues the events of Dexter: New Blood. In it, Dexter, who has come out of a coma, is determined to find his son Harrison (Jack Alcott), hoping to reconnect with him and redeem himself. His journey takes him to New York, where he crosses paths with Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage), a billionaire fascinated by serial killers.
