From July 25-27, 2024, San Diego will once again become the pop culture capital of the world for a new edition of San Diego Comic-Con. Prime Video will be there with two of its flagship series, The Boys and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which will be honored in the iconic Hall H on Friday, July 26.
The Boys will be the first to be honored at 10:00 a.m. with a panel featuring Eric Kripke and the series’ stars discussing the Season 4 finale, according to Prime Video’s press release. The platform has yet to specify which members of The Boys cast will be in attendance. An hour later, at 11:05 a.m., fans of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will take their seats in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con for a panel where they can learn more about the second season of the series in the company of the showrunners and some of the cast. Once again, Prime Video has not revealed the stars expected at the event.
Animated series in the spotlight
A few hours later, at 1:00 p.m., Prime Video will showcase its animated series in a panel titled “Adapting Fan Favorites: A Conversation with Prime Video’s Adult Animation Creators”. The panel will feature Robert Kirkman (Invincible), Vivienne Medrano (Hazbin Hotel), Travis Willingham (The Legend of Vox Machina) and Kyle Hunter (Sausage Party: Foodtopia).
The streaming platform will use the weekend to promote a highly anticipated animated series: Batman: Caped Crusader, produced by Matt Reeves. The series, which will be available on Prime Video on August 1, will premiere on Saturday, July 27 at 2:45 p.m. in Room 6BCF, followed by a Q&A session. Matt Reeves and some of the voice cast (Hamish Linklater, Jamie Chung and Minnie Driver) will be in attendance.
Finally, on Saturday, July 27 at 10 p.m., the streaming platform will host a final event dedicated to animation and, in particular, Hazbin Hotel. In its press release, Prime Video promises exclusive merch reveals, trivia and prizes, sing-along and special guests you won’t want to miss.
Like a Dragon: Yakuza and From also represented at San Diego Comic Con 2024
Like a Dragon: Yakuza, the live-action adaptation of the video game of the same name, will also have its own panel, as will the From series.
The Like a Dragon: Yakuza panel will take place on July 26 at 2:30 pm in room 5AB and will feature actor Ryoma Takeuchi, the show’s producers, and a surprise guest. The From series panel will take place on Saturday, July 27, at 6:45 p.m. in the Indigo Ballroom. It’s a chance to discuss Season 3 of From with Jeff Pinkner, Jack Bender and John Griffin, the show’s producers, and actors Harold Perrineau, Elizabeth Saunders, Eion Bailey, Catalina Sandino Moreno and David Alpay.
