Comic Con France: Ian McDiarmid, Robert Englund and Anthony Daniels among the expected guests

Each day has its own announcement. From Monday, December 18 to Friday, December 22, 2023, Comic Con France has announced the names of its first five guests. For its first edition, the event, which will take place on March 30 and 31, 2024 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, has chosen franchises that are popular with the general public. Ian McDiarmid, Palpatine, in Paris

For its first announcement, Comic Con France chose a saga that has been a staple for over 45 years, Star Wars, and decided to invite Ian McDiarmid. The British actor is inextricably linked to the franchise, having played Palpatine since 1983’s Return of the Jedi. A role he has played repeatedly over the decades, in both feature films and TV series.

Although Ian McDiarmid is best known for his work in Star Wars, he has also appeared in films such as Sleepy Hollow and The Lost City of Z. His TV credits include Utopia, City of Vice and Britannia.

During his appearance at Comic Con France 2024, on Saturday, March 30, 2024 only, Ian McDiarmid will be available for photos (€90 each) and autographs (€80 each).

Cowabunga: Kevin Eastman meets Ninja Turtles fans

One day after Ian McDiarmid‘s announcement, the organizers of Comic Con France have confirmed the presence of a guest who also left his mark on the 80s and 90s by co-creating the famous Ninja Turtles with Peter Laird.

Kevin Eastman will be in the French capital to meet fans of Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo. It’s an opportunity not to be missed if you want to talk to him about the genesis of this project and the evolution of the Ninja Turtles over the years.

Kevin Eastman will be present for both days of the event, including photo sessions (€60) and book signings (€60).

Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger) to haunt the French capital

On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, Comic Con France confirmed the presence of a master of horror in Paris by announcing Robert Englund. The 40th anniversary of the 1984 film A Nightmare on Elm Street will be celebrated in the company of Freddy Krueger. This iconic character has been portrayed seven times by Robert Englund. He also played him in the series Freddy’s Nightmares, A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Series, which ran for 44 episodes between 1988 and 1990.

In addition to A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, Robert Englund has starred in numerous projects in the horror genre. Over the years, he has appeared in The Phantom of the Opera, Wishmaster, Urban Legend, Hatchet, Fear Clinic, Masters of Horror, and most recently, Stranger Things.

If you’d like a photo with Robert Englund, these are available for €90 each, while his autographs start at €100.

A little magic with Natalia Tena (Harry Potter)

For their fourth announcement, the organizers of the Paris Comic Con have turned their attention to Harry Potter and have revealed that they will be able to count on the presence of Natalia Tena, who played Nymphadora Tonks in the last four films of the saga.

In addition to this role, the British actress is best known for her portrayal of Osha in Game of Thrones, one of the leading series of the 2010s. On the small screen, she has also appeared in Wolfe, Origin, Wisdom of the Crowd and The Refugees.

During her appearance at Comic Con France 2024, Natalia Tena will be available for photos (€50) and autographs (€40).

Star Wars: Anthony Daniels also on board

Comic Con France ends its week of announcements as it began, with the unveiling of a guest from the Star Wars saga. This time, Anthony Daniels, who played the incomparable C-3PO, is expected in the French capital. This will be an opportunity to talk to him about his experiences in the franchise that has marked his life for more than 45 years.

Like the other guests, the British actor will be available for photos (€70) and autographs (€70) during his visit to France on March 30 and 31, 2024.
