AMC Networks is returning to San Diego Comic-Con on July 22 and 23. On the agenda: a fan party and four panels about series.

The Walking Dead and Tales of the Walking Dead in Hall H

On Friday, July 22, 2022, AMC will be going big with two panels about The Walking Dead universe in Hall H.

At 12:30 p.m., fans in attendance will be able to learn more about Tales of the Walking Dead, a six-episode anthology featuring familiar characters as well as new faces to see the apocalypse from a new perspective. The panel, moderated by Chris Hardwick, will feature Scott M. Gimple (Executive producer and head of content of The Walking Dead universe), Channing Powell (showrunner), Michael Satrazemis (director) and some members of the cast including Terry Crews, Samantha Morton and Danny Ramirez.

An hour later, at 1:30 p.m., The Walking Dead will be honored in Hall H for the last time in its history. This highly anticipated panel will feature a Q&A, stories from the making of season 11 and a trailer of the final episodes. In attendance will be Scott M. Gimple, showrunner Angela Kang, director Greg Nicotero, and the following stars: Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Christian Serratos, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Seth Gilliam, Josh McDermitt, Michael James Shaw, Cailey Fleming and Lauren Ridloff.

Presentation of Queer for Fear and Interview with the Vampire

Two more panels will be on the AMC Networks schedule during San Diego Comic-Con. The first one will take place on Friday, July 22 in room 61 and will be focused on the documentary series Queer for Fear, a 4-part look at the role played by the LGBTQIA+ community in front of and behind the camera in the horror genre. AMC Networks will have Bryan Fuller, Steak House, Kimberly Peirce and Renee “Nay” Bever to discuss this new program from Shudder.

The second panel will feature a highly anticipated series, the new adaptation of Anne Rice‘s novel Interview with the Vampire. In addition to a first trailer, executive producer Mark Johnson, series creator Rolin Jones, production designer Mara LePere Schloop and the cast (Sam Reid, Jacob Anderson, Bailey Bass and Eric Bogosian) will discuss what it’s like to adapt a cult classic that takes place in early 20th century New Orleans.

The Walking Dead: 11 years of the cult series

On Friday, July 22, starting at 7:30 p.m., AMC will welcome all The Walking Dead fans to the Hilton Gaslamp Hotel. The Walking Dead Fan Celebration will feature activities designed exclusively for San Diego Comic-Con, as well as a collection of series set pieces, props and artifacts from all seasons.

The network will also allow fans to:

  • get a pin commemorating The Walking Dead Fan Celebration
  • take home pins custom-designed representing iconic images from The Walking Dead
  • choose from one of four custom t-shirts in honor of the series
  • transform into the undead at the make-up station
  • eat “Taste of Tradition” ice cream flavors
  • participate in a Commonwealth-inspired lottery for additional prizes.
