The year 2025 should promise a good dose of action in cinemas and on streaming platforms. While Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning and Back in Action recently released their trailers, it’s now The Amateur’s turn to reveal itself with an explosive first video.
Adapted from Robert Littell‘s novel of the same name, The Amateur follows Charlie Heller (Rami Malek), a brilliant but deeply introverted CIA analyst whose life is turned upside down when his wife is killed in a terrorist attack in London. When his superiors refuse to act, he takes matters into his own hands and embarks on a dangerous journey around the world to track down those responsible for his wife’s death. Strength may not be his greatest asset, but his intelligence and ingenuity will enable him to carry out his mission successfully.
The film, directed by James Hawes (Slow Horses), is scheduled for release in April 2025. The cast includes Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix), Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs Maisel), Caitríona Balfe (Outlander), Jon Bernthal (The Punisher), Michael Stuhlbarg (Your Honor), Holt McCallany (Mindhunter), Julianne Nicholson (Masters of Sex), Adrian Martinez (Stumptown) and Danny Sapani (Halo).
