“Field Notes on Love”, the Young Adult romance by Jennifer E. Smith will soon be adapted for HBO max. Dove Cameron and Jordan Fisher have both been cast in the lead roles.

After being dumped by his girlfriend, Hugo remains determined to complete his train trip across the United States. But there’s a problem: the second ticket is already booked in the name of Margaret Campbell, his ex-girlfriend…and it’s neither exchangeable nor refundable. This is the pitch for “Field Notes on Love”, the novel by Jennifer E. Smith, which will soon be adapted for HBO Max and whose cast has already been partially revealed. Dove Cameron (Liv and Maddie, Descendants) and Jordan Fisher (To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You) will star in the film.

A best-seller on the big screen

“Field Notes on Love” was published in 2019 and is the fourth Jennifer E. Smith novel to have an adaptation. Already the author of eight other stories for young adults, she has been translated into 33 languages. There is no doubt that readers will come to see this new adaptation. The release date is still unknown.
