Over the last few months, the HBO Max platform has mainly made headlines thanks to its special dedicated to the cult sitcom Friends. And although the shooting of this reunion has been postponed due to COVID-19, WarnerMedia’s streaming service is not abandoning the idea of these specials dedicated to a particular series. In fact, HBO Max has announced that it will soon broadcast a new special, this time dedicated to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
The series that starred Will Smith is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, which provides HBO Max with the opportunity of bringing together on one set the main stars of this iconic show of the 90s. Will Smith (Will), Tatyana Ali (Ashley), Karyn Parsons (Hilary), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey), Daphne Reid (Vivian n°2), DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz) and Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton) are expected to participate. This special will be an opportunity to revisit the cultural impact of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air series and the memories they have of the show. Without a doubt, the actors will evoke the late James Avery, the actor who played Philip Banks and who passed away in 2013.
According to TVLine, this reunion episode is scheduled to be filmed on September 10 and aired around Thanksgiving.
