Panic will not return to Amazon Prime Video for a second season. According to Deadline, the streaming service has decided not to renew the series adapted from the novel of the same name by Lauren Oliver.

According to the American media, despite the support of Amazon Prime Video, the series, which targets a young adult audience, did not meet the expected success, unlike The Wilds, released a few months earlier. The conclusion of the single season being sufficient in itself, the streaming platform decided not to order new episodes.

The 10 episodes of Panic takes place in the small town of Carp where every summer high school students participate in a game to win a sum of money that will allow them to change their lives. But this year, the rules have changed, the prize pool is bigger than usual and the game has become even more dangerous. Players will face their deepest fears and have to decide what they are willing to risk to win.

The cast for the first and only season includes Mike Faist (West Side Story), Olivia Scott Welch (Fear Street), Jessica Sula (Scream), David W. Thompson (Gotham), Ray Nicholson (Mayans M.C.), Camron Jones (Elephant Department), Enrique Murciano (Without a Trace), Todd Williams (Vampire Diaries), Lee Eddy (Cruel Summer), Leslie Ann Leal and Jordan Elsass (Superman and Lois).
