In recent seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, many characters have returned to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, formerly known as Seattle Grace Hospital, but could the same be true for Arizona Robbins, played by Jessica Capshaw? Grey’s Anatomy fans tried to get the answer from her.
Jessica Capshaw was invited to the First Responders Reunion Convention, which took place in Paris on June 3 and 4, 2023, and she did two panels with Camilla Luddington ( Jo Wilson since Season 9). During these Q&A sessions, fans of Grey’s Anatomy wanted to know if Arizona Robbins, who left the show in Season 14, would be walking the halls of the Seattle hospital again in the coming months, and what the pediatric surgeon’s life is like now.
While Jessica Capshaw cleverly avoided the question about her character’s return to Grey’s Anatomy, she did confide that she would love to see what Shonda Rhimes or the writers have in mind for Arizona Robbins right now. She adds that she has loved being a part of the show and that it would be a wonderful surprise to see what happens to Arizona. A wish that will surely be shared by the fans of the show who love this character so much.
Camilla Luddington and Jessica Capshaw imagine the Jo-Arizona reunion
While we don’t know if Arizona Robbins will be on Grey’s Anatomy Season 20, there’s nothing stopping us from imagining what might happen if the surgeon returned to Seattle. Jessica Capshaw and Camilla Luddington participated in this exercise (or almost).
Between two laughs (as you can see in the video below), Camilla Luddington, who plays Jo, indicated that the first challenge would be to manage to do a scene together. Later, the actress adds that it would be great to see Arizona Robbins back, and imagines that her character might admire Arizona, who is a fetal surgeon, a field Jo might also turn to.
For her part, Jessica Capshaw reminds us that their characters were never really close, except toward the end because of Jo and Alex’s marriage. Given the connection that was made at that point, the actress thinks that there are many possibilities for a reunion between Jo and Arizona, without going into details.
