Succession, The Bear and Beef: the trio of winners at the 75th Emmy Awards. After the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice Awards, these three series are once again racking up the awards in the US.
For its final season, Succession takes home the Emmy for Best Drama Series, and three of its cast members are honored: Kieran Culkin (Best Actor in a Drama Series), Sarah Snook (Best Actress in a Drama Series) and Matthew Macfadyen (Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series). Two other awards were added to the list, for Best Writing and Best Directing in a Drama Series. The Last of Us (best guest actor and actress in a drama series) and The White Lotus (best supporting actress in a drama series) managed to hold their own despite the dominance of Succession.
On the comedy front, The Bear was widely praised by voters for its first season. The series, starring Jeremy Allen White, won Emmys for Outstanding Comedy, Outstanding Lead Actor, Outstanding Lead Actress, Outstanding Supporting Actor, Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Writing in a Comedy. Abbott Elementary (Best Actress in a Comedy), Ted Lasso (Best Male Guest in a Comedy) and Poker Face (Best Female Guest in a Comedy) were also honored at the 75th Annual Emmy Awards.
In the miniseries, TV movies and anthologies, Beef did best with 5 Emmy Awards: Best Miniseries or Anthology, Best Directing, Best Writing, Best Actor and Best Actress in a Miniseries, Anthology or TV Movie. The only categories the series missed out on were those dedicated to supporting actors, with Paul Walter Hauser (Black Bird) and Niecy Nash-Betts (Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story) taking home the honors.
