In 2018, Altered Carbon‘s first season, an adaptation of Richard Morgan‘s eponymous book, was acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. Two years later, Netflix hopes to achieve the same success with a second eight-part season.

Scheduled for February 27th on the streaming platform, Altered Carbon season 2 will be the opportunity to discover Takeshi Kovacs’, the main character of the series, new sleeve. While in season 1, he was played by Joel Kinnaman (RoboCop, Hanna), it is now Anthony Mackie (Avengers, Black Mirror) who will embody the elite warrior.

In season 2, Takeshi Kovacs will return home to Harlan attracted by the promise of finding Quell (Renée Elise Goldsberry), his lost love. Haunted by his past and charged with investigating a series of violent murders, Kovacs is shocked to learn that this new criminal case and his search for Quell are in fact one and only mission. With the help of A.I. Poe (Chris Conner), Kovacs must find new allies to defeat his enemies and discover who Quell really is.

Among the new faces in the second season of Altered Carbon are Torben Liebrecht (X Company), Lela Loren (Power), Simone Missick (Luke Cage), James Saito (Eli Stone), Dina Shihabi (Jack Ryan), Dalias Blake (Aliens vs Predator: Requiem) and Oliver Rice (Chesapeake Shores).
