After winning hearts on the web and in bookstores, Alice Oseman‘s Heartstopper graphic novels are back in the spotlight with a Netflix serial adaptation. Will the series be as successful? It’s still too early to tell, as the episodes are only available since April 22, 2022, but the first feedbacks are positive: Heartstopper has a nice rating above 9 out of 10 on IMDB. This is enough to comfort Empire Conventions in the organization of an event focused on the series.
Well before the launch of the series on Netflix, the French organizer had bet on the success of this adaptation and had teased the organization of a physical event in the months to come. If for the moment, no additional information has filtered, Empire Conventions took advantage of the arrival of Hearstopper on the platform to announce a virtual event on May 21.
As good news never comes alone, the organization also revealed the name of the first guest of the convention ‘Young Love Lasts Forever Goes Virtual’. And it is not just any name since Empire Conventions has invited Joe Locke, the actor who plays Charlie Spring, the heart of the whole plot of Heartstopper.
The actor, whose first major role is in this series, will do one-on-one (70€), meet & greet (55€), personalized videos (55€), and autographs (30€) during this virtual event. These different activities are already available in limited quantities on the official ticketing.
