Pop culture fans won’t have the opportunity to attend the Comic Con Paris in 2020. The event, which was scheduled to take place from 2 to 4 October 2020, has been cancelled by its organizers. A decision that does not come as much of a surprise since ReedPop, the organization in charge of Comic Con Paris, had to cancel many of its upcoming events due to the current health situation.

In a press release published on Tuesday 30 June, the Comic Con Paris team states that this decision was taken “given the uncertainties concerning the international travel of talents and partners, the doubts related to the conditions for the resumption of cultural events and the health security measures that could make the event, such as we know it, impossible to organize”.

The 2020 edition of Comic Con Paris was expected to be an opportunity for the festival to reinvent itself in a new venue. After five years of being held in the Grande Halle de la Villette, the Comic Con Paris had chosen to relocate to Pavilion 1 of the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. We will now have to wait until 2021 to discover the new version of this event that has become a must-attend event in France.
