A few weeks after Steven Yeun, another member of the Thunderbolts cast is leaving the Marvel feature due to scheduling problems. Deadline reports that Ayo Edebiri has been forced to withdraw from the Jake Schreier-directed film, due to delays in shooting following the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strike.

To replace the actress currently in the cast of the series The Bear, the production has called on Geraldine Viswanathan, another familiar face on the small screen. The Australian actress is best known for having starred in all four seasons of the Miracle Workers series alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi.

Expected to hit cinemas in July 2025, Thunderbolts will bring together several MCU villains and anti-heroes who are sent on a mission to redeem their past deeds. Geraldine Viswanathan is set to star alongside Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), David Harbour (Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine), Wyatt Russell (John Walker/U.S. Agent), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Olga Kurylenko (Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster) and Hannah John-Kamen (Ava Starr/Ghost).
