At a meeting on Monday, June 15, the Board of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences decided to postpone the ceremony originally scheduled for February 28 to April 25, 2021. The eligibility period for films has also been modified: traditionally based on the calendar year, this year it will be extended to February 28, 2021.

This decision was taken in response to the current global pandemic, which has led to the postponement of film releases and the closure of cinemas for several months in many countries.

It will therefore take a little longer to find out the results of the 93rd Oscar ceremony.
