The fifth volume of the “Twilight” saga, aka “Midnight Sun”, will be released on August 4th. After having the printer’s proofs stolen, Stephenie Meyer finished her writing, much to the delight of the fans.

Fifteen years ago, “Twilight”, a saga conceived by Stephenie Meyer, was published by Hachette. The first part, entitled “Fascination” told the story of the encounter between Bella, a high school student, and Edward, a young vampire, in the rainiest city in the United States: Forks. After the publication of the last volume in 2008, “Twilight” was screened in cinemas. However, in the author’s drawers was another manuscript: “Midnight Sun”. Even if some people talked about a fifth instalment, they were actually talking about the first volume narrated from the point of view of Edward Cullen. But the first drafts were stolen, and the author refused to continue writing that novel.

New fans

Today, there is a big surprise for the fans: this new book will be published on August 4th. Perhaps the pandemic changed the writer’s mind? While the reasons for the release remain unclear, many people are delighted with the news. And among them, a few producers who already dream of bringing the novel to the screen. We are not sure if Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will be on board, but one thing is certain: this edition is likely to attract a new generation of readers.
