Pas de grosses surprises aux MTV Video Music Awards 2021 puisque les principaux favoris repartent avec un ou plusieurs prix. Comme en 2019, Lil Nas X a été l’un des grands gagnants de la soirée et obtient 3 récompenses dont celle très convoitée de la vidéo de l’année.
Olivia Rodrigo, qui a battu de nombreux records avec son premier album, est elle aussi couronnée de 3 awards dont ceux de la chanson de l’année et de la révélation de l’année.
Justin Bieber, qui était en tête des nominations, est récompensé, entre autres, du prix de l’artiste de l’année tandis que BTS remporte les prix du groupe de l’année de la meilleure chanson K-POP.
