La 95e cérémonie des Oscars qui s’est tenue le 12 mars 2023 à Los Angeles a réservé assez peu de surprise. Le film Everything Everywhere All at Once, en tête des nominations (11), est reparti avec le plus de récompenses et s’adjuge notamment le très convoité Oscar du meilleur film.
Le castin d’Everything Everywhere All at Once obtient, quant à lui, trois prix : ceux du meilleur acteur dans un second rôle (Ke Huy Quan), de la meilleure actrice dans un second rôle (Jamie Lee Curtis) la meilleure actrice (Michelle Yeoh), une première pour une actrice d’origine asiatique. En ce qui concerne le prix du meilleur acteur, c’est Brendan Fraser, favori avec Austin Butler (Elvis), qui a été sacré pour sa prestation dans The Whale, l’un des films nominés aux Oscars que nous vous conseillons de regarder.
À l’Ouest, rien de nouveau, second film avec le plus de nominations (9), a lui aussi connu une très bonne soirée aux Oscars 2023. Adaptation du roman pacifiste d’Erich Maria Remarque, le long-métrage d’Edward Berger repart avec 5 statuettes dont celle du meilleur film international. A noter que le film The Banshees of Inisherin rentre bredouille de la cérémonie malgré ses neuf nominations.
