If the movie Shin Ultraman, acclaimed by critics and fans of this iconic character, was released last May in Japan, its distribution outside of Asia is currently limited to festival screenings, as was the case recently at Utopiales in Nantes, France. In the United States, the feature film by Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion) and Shinji Higuchi (Shin Ultraman) will have its premiere at the Anime Frontier 2022 event.
This preview will be a special screening that will take place on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm with 1,500 lucky people. Tickets for this preview will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Peter Tatara, director of Anime Frontier, is excited to host the screening: “Shin Ultraman is a return to the BIG screen for a classic hero for generations of fervent fans and is a fantastic introduction to those just discovering the franchise. This screening falls in line with our promise to grant our fans truly special experiences hardly seen in North Texas. Those who are not lucky enough to get tickets for the Shin Ultraman premiere will have to wait for the national release of the film which will take place on January 11 and 12, 2023 in the US. Tickets for these screenings will go on sale on December 9, 2022.
