This convention, now in its second year, will offer fans a wide range of awesome anime and gaming-related entertainment, and you can be sure that the organizers have some big surprises up their sleeves. When and Where the Convention Takes Place
The 2023 Shine Con will take place in Las Vegas over three days, from May 5th through May 7th. You can get pre-registration tickets for a single day or the entire event. A single pass ticket will set you back $25, or you can attend all three days for $40. Given the number of things to do at the convention, we recommended taking the bargain three-day pass option, especially if you’re traveling to Vegas from out of town. The convention will be held at Tuscany Suites, which isn’t on the all-famous Strip, but it’s close enough.
Getting There
How you travel to the convention will depend on where you’re coming from. If you’re unable to drive to Las Vegas (due to the distance), then it’s best to fly into the Harry Reid International Airport, which is a short taxi ride away from downtown. Another option is to fly into a nearby city, rent a car, and arrive in Sin City on four wheels. The drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas is easy to do and pretty legendary, and can offer a fun and exciting way to get your trip underway.
Enjoying Las Vegas
If you attend Shine Con, then you won’t only get to enjoy an excellent anime and gaming convention. You’ll also have all of Las Vegas to enjoy. So be sure to dedicate some time during your trip to see a show, hit the shops, and visit the world-famous casinos. If you’re spending a few extra days in Las Vegas, then it’s also recommended to pay a trip to the Grand Canyon, which is within easy driving distance of the city.
Where to Stay
You’ll have a lot of options when it comes to choosing where you stay for the convention. After all, Las Vegas is not short on hotel rooms. If you want to be as close as possible to the convention, then book a room at the hotel at which it is held, the Tuscany Suites. A discount code is available to attendees that provides some money off the cost of the room.
However, you don’t need to stay onsite. The famous Las Vegas strip is only a few minutes away via taxi, so you have the option of staying there if you’d rather be in the thick of the Sin City action. Remember that the Strip is some 4 miles long so, if you want to walk to the convention, it’s best to stay somewhere in the middle of the Strip, near the Bellagio Hotel.
What to Expect
So what should you expect from Shine Con? A whole lot of fun, that’s what. There will be talks from industry experts, plenty of people in cosplay (including you, if you like!), parties and social events, and gaming tournaments that allow you to do battle with other attendees.
