Peacemaker, the spin-off series from the film The Suicide Squad, adds four names to its cast. According to Deadline, the series, which focuses on the character played by John Cena, will feature Chris Conrad (Patriot), Danielle Brooks (Orange Is The New Black), Jennifer Holland (Sun records) and Robert Patrick (Terminator 2).
Chris Conrad will play The Vigilante/Adrian Chase, an excellent hand-to-hand fighter and a brilliant sniper who has the ability to heal quickly and regenerate his body from injuries. A New York City prosecutor, he is seeking justice in his own way after the murder of his wife and children by mobsters. Jennifer Holland will resume her role as Emilia Harcourt, an NSA agent working with A.R.G.U.S. to monitor the Suicide Squad. Finally, Danielle Brooks and Robert Patrick will play two new characters: Leota Adebayo and Auggie Smith. No further details have filtered over these roles.
Peacemaker will consist of eight episodes, all written by James Gunn, the director of The Suicide Squad. The series will return to the origins of the character of Peacemaker, a man who believes in peace at all costs no matter how many people he has to kill to achieve it.
