Good news for Outlander fans: the adventures of the Fraser family will continue. The American channel Starz has ordered a seventh season of 12 episodes that will be adapted from the book “An Echo in the Bone” by Diana Gabaldon.
Season 7 will again be directed by Matthew B. Roberts who will continue to serve as showrunner. Roberts said he is thrilled that “Starz has given us the opportunity to continue the epic ‘Outlander’ journey.” He added: “We […] look forward to giving the fans another season of this exhilarating story.”

Christina Davis, President of Original Programming for Starz, said in a statement: “The hit series ‘Outlander’ embodies everything about our initiative including a powerful female lead character and an amazing team of storytellers. We look forward to following the adventures of Claire and Jamie in America during the Revolution as well as more time travel during this next season.”
Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin will all return for the next round of episodes.
