In conjunction with the Television Critics Association Press Tours, Pop TV announced the launch date for the fourth season of One Day at a Time. Great news, the Alvarez family will soon be back on the small screen!

In a little over two months, the series One Day at a Time will return to the small screen. Forget Netflix, the Alvarez family will now be moving to Pop TV, also home of the popular Schitt’s Creek. The channel will use its flagship series with Eugene Levy as a lead-in to One Day at a Time airing from March 24, 2020. A strategy that is likely to result in high ratings for the series.

The fourth 13-episode season will feature Penelope (Justina Machado) in a surprising relationship while her mother Lydia (Rita Moreno) experiences a religious crisis. These new episodes will also be an opportunity to learn more about Lydia’s surprise trip to Cuba with Dr. Berkowitz (Stephen Tobolowski). During this same season, Schneider (Todd Grinnell) will deepen his relationship with Avery (India de Beaufort) and Elena (Isabella Gomez) will start preparing for university.

While season 4 of One Day at a Time has not yet begun airing, Brad Schwartz, president of Pop TV, was delighted with the enthusiastic response from the fans for this new round of episodes. He also emphasized the importance of this series, which has “unmatched ability to tackle topical social issues through the lens of a relatable, loving family.”
