Disney+’s hit series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has just started shooting its third season and is adding new names to its cast. Let’s take a look.

After two years of wandering the halls of East High, the characters of High School Musical: The Musical: The series head to California and Camp Shallow Lake for Season 3.

In this new episodes, the Wildcats will adapt the animated film Frozen along with new classmates. As a result, the cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series expands with the addition of 5 new cast members.

Two new regulars

While Disney+ has confirmed the returns of Joshua Bassett (Ricky), Matt Cornett (E.J.), Sofia Wylie (Gina), Julia Lester (Ashlyn), Dara Reneé (Kourtney), Frankie Rodriguez (Carlos), Kate Reinders (Miss Jenn), Olivia Rose Keegan (Lily) and Olivia Rodrigo (Nini), the streaming platform has also made official two additional names as regulars.

Fans of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series will get to see Adrian Lyles as Jet, a newcomer to Camp Shallow Lake, and Saylor Bell (Rule the Mix) as Maddox, a quick-witted tech lover who always follows the rules.

Three guest stars well known to Disney Channel fans

The first guest star, and not the least, is Corbin Bleu, the actor who played Chad Danforth in the High School Musical (HSM) trilogy. Like Lucas Grabeel and KayCee Stroh in Season 1, he will be playing himself and not his character from the HSM franchise.

Season 3 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series will also feature two other guest stars: Meg Donnelly and Jason Earles. Meg Donnelly, the star of Disney Channel’s Z-O-M-B-I-E-S, will play Val, a confident and funny student who acts as a camp counselor. She will be in charge of choreographing the Frozen show. Jason Earles, known for his role of Jackson Stewart in Hannah Montana, will play Dewey Wood, the fun-loving director of Camp Shallow Lake.

Songs from Camp Rock, Frozen and High School Musical

In its press release, Disney+ revealed that Season 3 of High School Musical: The Musical: The series will feature songs from Frozen but also songs from the High School Musical franchise as it was already the case in the first two seasons.

The new episodes will also pay tribute in songs to Camp Rock, another successful Disney Channel franchise.
