Although it was already known that HBO Max was to be released next May, the exact date had not yet been announced by WarnerMedia. It has now been done. This new streaming service will be available as of May 27, 2020 in the United States.
HBO Max is expected to benefit from a large catalogue as soon as it is launched since the platform will be able to count on Warner productions as well as on HBO shows. Subscribers will be able to enjoy series such as Friends, Game of Thrones, Euphoria, Entourage, Oz, Six Feet Under, Westworld, The Big Bang Theory, Gossip Girl, Rick & Morty and South Park. On the movie side, the platform will feature A Star Is Born, Aquaman, Crazy Rich Asians, Ça : Chapitre 2, Joker, Shazam and the entire collection of Gremlins, The Lord of the Rings and The Matrix. In total, 10,000 hours of content will be available to HBO Max subscribers ($14.99 per month).
In addition to these well-known shows, HBO Max will feature original productions including Love Life with Anna Kendrick, a reboot of Gossip Girl, The Flight Attendant with Kaley Cuoco, a new comedy created by Seth Rogen, a spin-off series of The Shining and a Justice League Dark series. The special Friends reunion, which was supposed to be available at the launch, is currently on hold.
