Casting News: the first names of the cast of The Surrealtor announced, the latest developments related to soap operas, a recasting in The Goldbergs, ...

Over the past few days, there have been plenty of casting announcements. Let’s take a look at some of the things worth keeping in mind.

The Young And The Restless – CBS
A few weeks after her departure from the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, Courtney Hope announced that she joined the cast of another soap opera of the network: The Young And The Restless. Although her participation has been confirmed by CBS, no further details about her role have been revealed for the moment. (Source)

Gossip Girl – HBO Max
Canadian actress and singer Jordan Alexander (Sacred Lies) has been chosen to play one of the lead roles in the Gossip Girl reboot for HBO Max. All the details about her role are being kept secret. (Source)

Days Of Our Lives – NBC
Just like Tamara Braun, another former star of the soap opera Days Of Our Lives is making a comeback. Six years after her departure, Alison Sweeney will be back in her role of Sami Brady for an important narrative arc. (Source)

Heels – Starz
Mary McCormack (US Marshals) will be joining Stephen Amell (Arrow) and Alexander Ludwig (Vikings) in the Heels series. She will play Willie, Jack Spade’s partner and the logistical brain behind the wrestling matches. Once Wild Bill’s assistant, she left just before his career took off because she got tired of babysitting him. (Source)

Generation – HBO Max
Generation, the new comedy produced by Lena Dunham (Girls) and created by Zelda et Daniel Barnz, will have Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Misfits) in its cast. e will play an atypical guidance counselor in this series that follows a group of high school students whose exploration of sexuality will challenge some deep-rooted beliefs about life, love and the nature of family within their conservative community. The Surrealtor– Syfy
Syfy has announced the first names of the cast of its new series The Surrealtor which will follow a team of real estate agents specializing in haunted and possessed houses that scare off potential buyers. They will attempt to “fix” these houses through some research and investigation as they struggle with their own demons. The cast will feature: Tim Rozon (Wynonna Earp), Sarah Levy (Schitt’s Creek), Adam Korson (Seed), Maurice Dean Wint (Cube), Savannah Basley (The Art of More) and Tennille Read (Workin’ Moms). Maid – Netflix
A few days after announcing the name of Maid’s lead actress (Margaret Qualley), the production revealed that Nick Robinson is going to portray one of the male lead characters. Qualley and Robinson have already worked together in the movie Native Son. (Source)

FBI– CBS
For its third season, the FBI series, created by Craig Turk and Dick Wolf, will welcome a new face with the arrival of Katherine Renee Turner. She will play Tiffany Wallace, a young woman who spent six years in the NYPD and who developed a taste for working with the feds after being involved in a joint task force.(Source)

Shining Vale – Starz
Gus Birney (The Mist) and Dylan Gage (PEN15) will join Courteney Cox and Greg Kinnear in the horror comedy Shining Vale. They will play the two children of the couple played by Cox and Kinnear. (Source)

The Goldbergs – ABC
During season 8 of The Goldbergs, the character of Ren will not be played by Kelli Berglund. Due to her engagements on the Heels series, the actress can no longer make herself available for the filming of the ABC comedy. She will therefore be replaced in this role by Carrie Wampler (Big Little Lies). (Source)

The Big Bad Wolfes – CBS
Stephanie Koenig (Swedish Dicks) will be part of The Big Bad Wolfes series alongside Julie Bowen (Modern Family). This series, created by Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, the creators of Will & Grace, will follow Frankie Wolfe (Julie Bowen), a woman whose career is thriving and who sees her life turned upside down when she adopts Quinn, an 11-year-old girl. Stephanie Koenig will play Frankie’s younger sister Maria, who has been described as fragile, distracted and chronically anxious. She is initially assigned as the foster family for Quinn before she realizes she will not be able to take on this role and asks her sister Frankie for help. The cast of the new CBS comedy also includes Jeremy D. Howard (MADtv). (Source)

General Hospital – ABC
Kim Delaney, who began her career in the soap opera All My Children and who was a major figure in the NYPD Blue series, has been announced as a cast member of the soap opera General Hospital. The details of her role are not yet available. (Source)
