When Dee Dee Allen (Meryl Streep) and Barry Glickman (James Corden), two Broadway stars whose latest show is a flop, decide that Emma’s situation is the perfect cause to help them resurrect their public image, they hit the road with two other performers, Angie (Nicole Kidman) and Trent (Andrew Rannells), to help the girl. But when their worldly and selfish activism turns against them, their lives are turned upside down and they mobilize to give Emma a night where she can finally be herself and celebrate.
