Just like David Arquette, Courteney Cox, another key star in the Scream saga, is back for the fifth opus directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The actress, known worldwide for her performance as Monica in Friends, will be back in her role as Gale Weathers and will once again face Ghostface.
In a statement, Radio Silence, a group of filmmakers who include Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, said: “We can’t imagine Scream without the iconic Gale Weathers and are so incredibly thrilled and humbled to have the opportunity to work with Courteney. We’re absolute mega fans of her work and we’re so excited to join her in the next chapter of the Scream saga”.
For her part, Courteney Cox confirmed the news on Instagram by releasing a Ghostface video with the message “I can’t wait to see this face again”.
