Two years after announcing that they were working on the adaptation of Leigh Bardugo‘s work, Netflix has revealed a teaser to announce the airing date of this series, which is particularly awaited by fantasy lovers. The appointment is set for April 2021.

Shadow and Bone will build on Leigh Bardugo‘s sagas: Shadow and Bone and Six of Crowns and will deliver a different result from the books according to what the author said: “The show will be radically different from the books. But in the most amazing way. Will be pretty much a high budget fan fiction.” He also told The Wrap: “We’ve taken the stories of Shadow and Bone and the characters of Six of Crows and we’ve brought them together in what I think will be a really unexpected way. Eric (Heisserer, ndlr) and our writers’ room and our directors have built something entirely new that still somehow stays true to the characters and to the heart of the stories.”

The characters will be played on the small screen by Jessie Mei Li (Alina Starkov), Kit Young (Jesper Fahey), Freddy Carter (Kaz Brekker), Amita Suman (Inej Ghafa), Archie Renaux (Malyen Oretsev), Ben Barnes (General Kirigan), Sujaya Dasgupta (Zoya Nazyalensky), Danielle Galligan (Nina Zenik), Daisy Head (Genya Safin) and Simon Sears (Ivan).
